03/26/2025 SITE PREPERATION FOR FLUOROSCOPE 1 Facility Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center 5500 Kellogg Ave, Wichita, KS 67218 Introduction Coordinate project with the Equipment provider/installer. Renovate space for Fluoroscopy. Relocate fixtures in conflict with Unistrut and ceiling areas. Install flooring. Demolition of control room walls and construction of control room. Replacement of doors to control room and control room. Installation of related casework. Removal and reinstallation of patient lift. Paint commissioning As-built drawings. The contractor will be responsible for meeting all contract specifications for the VAMC. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, and equipment to perform the work. All project work shall be installed in accordance with all applicable standards available at the time of installation to include published commercial specifications as well as standards and preferences expressed in this document. All installation details shall be fully coordinated with the VA CO and on-site Contracting Officer s Representative (COR). Period of performance for all work 190 days. Deliverable: The construction contractor will do all work in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications related to project number 589A7-23-315 Prepare Site for Fluoroscope, Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita Kansas. Project Scope A/E Part One Services (also known as Design Phase) for this design project includes site visits, field investigation, studies, and user interviews to prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for all facets of work and disciplines/trades to facilitate a construction project to install a new Fluoroscope in place of the existing Fluoroscope. Work will be centered on but not limited to rooms 153D and 153E in building 1 on VA Wichita Campus. The A/E Shall make investigations necessary to thoroughly evaluate the area, including interviewing the staff impacted by this project. After the VAMC approves the A/E s design development for construction, the A/E shall prepare construction documents necessary to accomplish the approved design development including identified bid deduct elements. The A/E shall perform construction period services as detailed within this SOW. A/E Shall provide 3rd party commissioning agent. Design Within Funding Limitations The design shall be prepared by the A/E to permit the award of a construction contract, using Federal Acquisition Regulation procedures for the construction of facilities, at a cost that does not exceed the project s estimated construction contract price of $900,000.00. Accessible Design: Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standard (ABAAS) for Federal Facilities and PG-18-13 VA Barrier Free Design Standard, whichever is most stringent. Infection Control Barrier criteria. AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Health Care Facilities Address the impact of demolition, renovation including walls and ceiling, electrical, mechanical, equipment and equipment support installation, and new construction. HIPAA: Accommodate compliance with current HIPAA requirements. Energy Usage: VA Sustainable Design Guide and Energy Star targets. Reduce projected energy costs by 30 percent from the minimum standard set by ASHRAE 90.1-2013. Water Usage: Contribute to the Decrease Water Usage goal of 2% annually using low volume urinals, reduced flow faucets, and low volume toilets. If found, design a method for abating all asbestos, lead paint and/or mold within the construction limits of this project. Remove only the part of the structure required to abate asbestos and/or lead presence and/or contamination, and area damaged by mold. Remove all asbestos, lead paint and/or mold present within the construction limits of this project from, including but not exclusive to, the existing walls, above ceilings or in the floor coverings as needed before installing the new work specified for the project area of the building. Conduct a site visit and perform viable air sampling for asbestos, lead paint and/or mold spore concentrations. Collect samples throughout the existing area within the construction limits of this project under the direction of the Project Engineer. Trained personnel under the direction of a licensed Certified Industrial Hygienist and/or Board-Certified Microbial Consultant will perform sampling activities. The Physical Security and Resiliency Design Manual, May 2024 shall be used as applicable to the project scope.
