Description: The Chugach National Forest requires Trail River Campground Reconstruction on the Seward Ranger District. Specific work includes reconditioning and resurfacing of existing roads and camping spurs, construction of new roads and camping spurs, furnishing and installation of site improvements including picnic tables, fire rings, bear-proof garbage containers, bear-proof food lockers, road gates, kiosk and fee station, traffic control signs, and government-furnished vault toilets. Work also includes demolition, removal, and disposal of existing gates, signs, vault toilets, campsite spur post markers and miscellaneous items. Specific work includes clearing and grubbing, site demolition and rehabilitation, excavation and embankment, crushed aggregate surfacing, concrete work, carpentry, metal fabrication, and painting and staining. The entrance road to the campground, Trail River Road, is located at approximately milepost 24.2 of the Seward Highway. Work is estimated to start 30 June 2004 with completion within 365 days. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered. Award of this project to be accomplished under Full and Open Competition, pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
