This project consists of drainage improvement work on Forest Service Road #11, Baker Lake Highway. The majority of the work is to replace and upgrade existing culverts for adequate drainage and sediment reduction. Work includes but is not limited to excavation, culvert removal & installation, and reconditioning of the roadbed. Estimated issued date of the solicitation is on or about October 22, 2004. Estimated start work date for this project is on or about April 20, 2005. Contract work time is approximately 120 days. The Governments estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Bonding will be required for this project.

This project is funded by Title II of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 where funds are paid to Counties with federal land for use on roads and schools. Offers will be evaluated on the basis of the benefit to the local community (in this case, WHATCOM County) as well as past performance and price.
