The intent of this contract is to furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary for the repair of 9 storm damage sites on two Forest Service Roads of the Grindstone and Covelo Ranger Districts of the Mendocino National Forest. Major items of work include, but are not limited to the following: clearing and grubbing; excavation; outsloping; construction of rolling dips; placement of various sizes of rock riprap; installation of geocomposite sheet drain; installation of 6-inch perforated corrugated polyethyelene pipe; installation of 6-inch nonperforated corrugated polyethyelene pipe; cleaning of culvet inlets; placement of crushed aggregate surface course; and seeding and mulching. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located on the Grindstone and Covelo Ranger Districts of the Mendocino National Forest. Six sites are located southeast of Mendocino Pass on Forest Service Road (FSR) 22N21 and three sites are located south of Mendocino Pass on FSR 22N11. Mendocino Pass is located in the NE 1/4 of section 2, T.23 N., R.10 W. To reach road 22N21 from the junction of I-5 and State Highway 162 at Willows: proceed west on State Highway 162 approximately 20 miles to the junction of County Road 306; then north on Co. Rd. 306 approximately 3.5 miles to junction with Forest Highway 7; then west approximately 25 miles on FH-7 to junction with 22N21 (M.P. 0.00); proceed northwest on 22N21 for approximately 15 miles to junction with FH-7. To reach FSR 22N11 from Mendocino Pass: proceed south on FH-7 for about 0.1 mile to junction with FSR 22N11 (M.P. 0.00). ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: between $250,000 and $500,000.
