This project work includes reconstructing 39 living areas, installing 39 fire rings and 39 tables, reconstructing 7 parking spurs, constructing pathways from living areas to toilets, replacing 16 existing faucets with accessible fixtures and sumps. Demolition and removal of existing fire rings, tables, and hydrants with sumps is included. The project is located on the Hume Lake Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest. The period of performance is 75 calendar days and is divided into two segments of work; part in the spring and remainder in the fall. Between the dates of approximately April 10th or date of issuance of the notice to proceed and May 18th, weather permitting, work on only the following contract items: General Demolition and Potable Water Hydrant, Accessible - with Sump, Grate and Concrete Pad. There are 16 hydrant systems to install; one will be a 30-foot extension of the water line to a new site. All others will involve replacement at the original site. Work on each hydrant and complete it in its entirety before beginning work on the next one. Inidividual hydrants, newly contructed or original, shall be operational not later than May 18th. The campground will then be open to the general public from May 19th through Sept. 10th. Work will resume September 11th for all uncompleted Water Hydrants, if any, and on all of the remaining contract work items. The intention is to complete this entire project in one season.
