Norcross: Work shall consist of roadside vegetation removal, reconditioning existing aggregate surfaced road and turnouts including minimum 2" depth scarification, shaping, and compaction, cleaning existing culverts, catchbasins, cleaning ditch and hauling removed material to a waste area, placing 2" compacted depth crushed aggregate from a government stockpile on entire project roadbed, and placing 4" depth hot bituminous pavement in two 2" lifts. Elk Creek 82-1: Work shall consist of reconditioning existing aggregate surfaced road including minimum 2" depth scarification, shaping, and compaction, cleaning existing culverts and catchbasins, cleaning ditch and hauling removed material to a waste area, installing prefabricated underdrain system and outlet pipe, placing 2" compactd depth crushed aggregate from a government stockpile or project roadbeds being paved, placing 3" depth hot bitiminous pavement in one lift, and constructing 1' width aggregate shoulders to pavement grade. Project is located on the Happy Camp Ranger District, on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Happy Camp, California. Contract time is 33 calendar days, with an estimated start date of August 26, 2002. This project is being funded by the Jobs-in-the-Woods program and thus, competition is legislatively restricted to certain countiesin Washington: Okanogan, Douglas, Chelan, Kittitas, Yakima, Klickitat, Skamania, Clark, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Pacific, Lewis, Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Mason, Jefferson, Clallam, Kitsap, Island, San Juan, King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom; Oregon: Wasco, Jefferson, Deschutes, Lake, Klamath, Jackson, Josephine, Curry, Coos, Douglas, Lane, Linn, Benton, Lincoln, Washington, Columbia and Clatsop; California: Siskiyou, Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, Lake, Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino. Project will be available from this website on or about July 29, 2002. However, due to the severity of the current fire season, funding for this project is presently not available. The Forest Service anticipates receiving additional funding before the end of the current fiscal year (9/30/02), and this announcement is issued based upon this assumption. A solicitation may be issued before the funding is available, however, award of this project is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds.
