California Grass Project Description - The project consists of the complete removal of approximately 4 acres of California Grass growing at the Waikapu Stream outlet into Kealia Pond. The grass extends from the north property boundary to the main pond. The thick grass will be removed along with all of the root systems. The grass will not be cut prior to removal. All vegetation and root material will be removed and disposed of by the contractor. California Bulrush Project Description - The project consists of the complete removal of a stand of bulrush and rhizome (roots) mass approximately 6 acres in size. The stand is located on the south/southeast side of the refuge office at Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge. The bulrush will be removed along with all of the root systems.
