Forest Service requires the upgrade of five campgrounds on the Custer Motorway. Work includes, but is not limited to, replacing campground furniture, salvaging designated furniture and signs, shaping roadways and spurs, placing aggregate surfacing on roadways, trails, and spurs, barrier rock installation, pathway and stairway construction, sign installation, vault toilet removals and installations, painting and minor clearing. The project is located on the Yankee Fork Ranger District, Salmon-Challis National Forest, Custer County, Idaho. The completion date for this project will be July 1, 2007. Normal construction season for the Custer Motorway begins around late May and lasts until November 1. The estimated start date for this project is August 1, 2006. Campgrounds under construction may be closed; however, two of the project campgrounds must remain open at all times. Proposals are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, July 17, 2006. The estimated price range is $100,000 to $250,000. A prebid tour will be conducted on June 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. MST. Prospective offerors shall meet at the Sunbeam rest area on Highway 75. The tour will be held in conjunction with a prebid tour for the Custer Motorway Trailheads project. The solicitation will be available on approximately June 16, 2006 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All responsible vendors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database at www.ccr.gov.
