This project involves the construction of stream improvement features over approximately 0.75 miles of main stem Crooked river. Work includes instream habitat structure installation, channel relocation, earthwork, leveling dredge tailings piles, and re-vegetation. Work includes gathering/obtaining habitat materials (large rocks and tree stems with root wads attached) from identified locations. This project is located approximately 45 miles east of Grangeville via State Highway 14 to the junction of Crooked River Road #233 then proceeding approximately 10 miles on the Crooked River Road to the mouth of 5 Mile reek. Road #233 is single lane gravel, Idaho County jurisdiction. The work extends in Crooked River from this point upstream approximately 0.75 miles to just below the town of Orogrande. The project is located on the Red River Ranger District, Nez Perce National Forest, Idaho County, Idaho. Price estimate for the total project is $250-500,000.
