NOTE: ONLY WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE HONORED. See instructions at end of description of work. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to perform operations necessary to completely remove and dispose of asbestos containing vinyl floor covering and thermal systems insulation as described in the specifications for the project, and as shown on Coast Guard drawings. Scope of the project consists of removing approximately 900 square feet of vinyl flooring, edging, and mastic materials, which may contain asbestos fibers from the basement of the housing unit, and installing new non-asbestos containing flooring, edging, and mastic materials. It also includes work to remove 10 square feet of thermal systems insulation on the hot water tank and approximately 455 lineal feet of 6-inch diameter steam and water piping insulation, which contain asbestos fibers. Quarters involved are located at USCG, ISC Kodiak, Kodiak, ALASKA. Work will take place between May 1, 2003 and August 30, 2003. Contractor will be provided with four weeks notice of the specific dates for work to commence. Materials, workmanship, and installation shall comply with the latest edition of all applicable codes and industry standards and these specifications. Contractor is responsible for field verification of all material sizes and quantities necessary for the complete installation of this project before quoting. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS: None, except as noted in Statement of Work. Performance Period is 30 ? 45 days. SUBMITTALS DUE UPON AWARD may include but are not limited to: manufacturer?s catalogs, standard schedules, performance charts, instructions, brochures, diagrams, etc., in addition to laboratory data, MSDS?s, references / qualifications. Lack of adequacy of references shall be at the sole discretion of the government and may constitute grounds for disqualification. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH requirements of: Underwriter?s Laboratories (UL), State of Alaska Administrative Codes, Kodiak Island Borough Baler/Landfill Asbestos Disposal Policy, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards; Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), ANSI Standards, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), MIL SPEC, FED STD, and applicable Coast Guard Safety Regulations. ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS ARE CONTAINED IN STATEMENT OF WORK THAT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH REQUEST FOR QUOTE DOCUMENTS WHEN THEY ARE ISSUED ON APPROXIMATELY February 27, 2003. A SITE VISIT will be held approximately two weeks before quote is due. Location: U.S. Coast Guard, Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska Estimated price is between $25,000 and $100,000. The proposed contract will be awarded under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation, which shall be considered.
