The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, requires a contract to provide Savannah Harbor DMCA 12A Dike Construction. The work will consist of The work will consist of placing approx. 250,000 cubic yards of interior soil raising the exterior dike, ramp, and embankments, assembly and installation of five government furnished steel catwalks and platform to existing weirs, installation of vinyl shee t piles around the ramps between the dikes and weirs, and installation of silt fence, fertilization and permanent grassing of embankment slopes around the approximate 29,000 feet perimeter of Savannah Harbor Dredged Material Containment Area (DMCA) 12A. C onstruction materials from with DMCA 12A consist of silts, silty sand and clays interbedded with marsh lenses containing organics. Completion of construction of two approximately 1 acre (each interior islands will be required including approximately 15 to n of N 56 stone and 5 ton of wood to be used as part of the construction. Harvesting of materials for earthwork construction will be in thin lifts over the entire borrow area of DMCA 12A. Depending on weather conditions, ground water may be encountered. Clearing, grubbing and incidental ditching can be expected. Network Analysis System will not be required. Period of performance for base items is 150 days from Notice to Proceed. Any contract resulting from this solicitation will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. This solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis.
