The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors for a construction project to make improvements to the Rainier Viewpoint located on State Highway 12 at mile post 147.7. The project improves the existing viewpoint area by re-grading the parking area and installing interpretive signing. The work includes grading and graveling the parking area; the construction of stone pilasters, wood rails, curb, sidewalk; installing government furnished interpretive signs and site signs, site sign pilaster; grading and rocking two drainage ways; re-grading a berm; and constructing low mounds.
The estimated start work date is August 20, 2007. Estimated contract time is 45 days after the date of Notice to Proceed. The NAICS code for this project is 237310 with a corresponding size standard of $31 million. This project is being issued for full and open competition in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is July 27, 2007. Contract will be awarded to the offeror presenting the best value to the Forest Service based upon; price; experience; and past performance.
