The issue date for the following solicitation is August 6, 2004. The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from pre-qualified firms for the design-build of three new facilities in the State of Hawaii as follows: approximately 36,567 square foot Main Post Office on a USPS-owned site of 216,888 square feet located at the airport in Kahului, Hawaii; approximately 12,550 square foot Carrier Annex on a USPS-owned site of 92,870 square feet located in Maui Research & Technology Park, Kihei, Hawaii; and approximately 21,775 square foot Carrier Annex on a USPS-owned site of 130,680 square feet located at the airport in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii . The design-build contractor(s) will be responsible for completing the design documents while conforming to postal medium standard building design (MSBD) requirements. The work may include design and construction of off-site improvements, and utility improvements and connections. Coordination with local jurisdictions, application, payment and submission for plan check and permits will be required and are the responsibility of the design-build contractor. The work is to be completed within 330 days after receipt of notice to proceed on Kahului and Kailua-Kona, and within 240 days on Kihei. Estimated range is $3.8M-$4.5M Kahului; $1M-$1.5M Kihei; and $2.2M-$2.6M Kailua-Kona. Project approval and funding is in process and expected prior to contract award. The minority subcontracting goal for this contract is 11%. Offers will not be publicly opened. All proposal information will remain confidential until award. A bid bond is not required. A pre-proposal conference will not be conducted.
