This project includes construction of 0.3 mile of trail to accessible standards. Work includes clearing and grubbing extra width excavation at specified grades, turnouts, level resting segements, rock retaining walls, possible rock blasting, gentle grade dips for tread drainage, two switchbacks, a 26 foot long 6 foot wide treated timber stringer treated deck bridge (Government furnished materials) and trail restortation/trail obliteration. This project is located 27 miles via road north northeast of Bozeman, MT on the east side of teh Bridger Mountain range. Access to the work site is attained by driving North Rouse, north out of Bozeman. This street turns into State Highway #86. Take this highway 21 miles to the Fairly Lake Forest Road #74, just 1/2 mile beyond Battle Ridge campground. Turn west onto Forest Road #74 and travel 5.5 miles to Fairy Lake Campground. Project work begins at the trailhead on the east side of the campground. Elevation at trailhead is 7670 feet. Trail descends to the lakeshore - elevation at lakeshore is 7553 feet. Price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Approximate start date is 15 September 2005. No bid bond will be required for this solicitation, however payment security will be required.
