The Coast Guard intends to issue an Invitation for Bid for all labor, material, equipment, transportation, mobilization, and demobilization to prepare the undeveloped upland portion of the site for 7 new duplex housing units, a new play structure and a relocated garage for maintenance; the 7 new duplex housing units and relocation of the garage will be done under a separate, future contract. This is the first phase of a multi-phased plan to upgrade Coast Guard Housing. Phase 1 work scope includes relocation of the existing play structure and improvements to provide access and staging for construction activities, removing existing vegetation (some of which may be stored on site for site restoration activities), removing saturated organics, placing structural fill for building pads, driveways, roadway, site utilities, sidewalks and storm water retention bio-swales. Phase 1 is anticipated to bid in early 2008 and be substantially complete by October, 2008 with a requirement to respond / maintain site conditions until May 2009. The place of performance will be U.S. Coast Guard Family Housing, Cordova, Alaska. Contract duration is 380 calendar days. The Government Estimate range is $1 to $5 million. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated. This procurement is restricted to HUBZONE contractors. The solicitation document will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov approximately 28 December 2007.
