The U.S. Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office and the U. S. Embassy, Quito, are seeking qualified offerors for construction of the first phase of an Aero Police Control Base to be constructed at the airport of Santo Domingo de los Colorados, in the Pichincha province of Ecuador. This project consists of 402 square meters of office and residential buildings, 354 square meters of a helicopter hangar, and 615 square meters of helipad and vehicular area for use by the Ecuadorian Areo Police. The buildings include troop barracks for 15 people, a laundry, kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and four offices. The buildings will have facilities which require air conditioning (split system), a communications system, and fire alarms. The project also includes a potable water tank, sewage, storm drainage system, and electrical system. The solicitation is planned for release to qualified offerors on about November 28, 2005, for contract award by January 2005. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately five months from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type shall be firm-fixed price, and the estimated value of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00 (U.S.).
