The Chugach National Forest intends to solicit proposals for the construction of a Kenai Lake Work Center Flexible Housing Units building located on the Seward Ranger District. The purpose of the contract is construction of the two-story residence building with up to 8052 square-feet. Construction of associated sidewalks, service utilities, and landscaping. Work includes clearing and grubbing, construction of the wood-frame building, installation of underground water line, installation of underground telephone line including coordination with appropriate utility company, and installation of a complete septic system. Specific work includes clearing and grubbing, excavation and embankment, crushed aggregate surfacing, concrete work, carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, interior finish work, painting, mechanical systems, and electrical systems. The project is located at the Chugach National Forest Kenai Lake Work Center, at mile 23.4 of the Seward Highway. Project consists of a base bid item and two options items that are subject to the availability of funds. Option A would be an additional 2016 square feet of living space, comprising two each 2-bedroom apartments, providing living and sleeping accommodations for a total of 4 people. Option B would be an additional 1008 square feet of living space, comprising two each 1-bedroom apartments, providing living and sleeping accommodations for a total of 2 people. Options A and B combined would be an additional 3024 square feet of living space, comprising two each 2-bedroom apartments and 2 each 1-bedroom apartments, providing living and sleeping accommodations for a total of 6 people.The estimated price range for this acquisition is $1,000,000 - $5,000.000. The performance period is approximately one year from date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
