Crab Orchard Campground Synopsis: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to issue a Prospectus soliciting proposals for a concession contract for campsite rental - electric and non-electric sites, boat dock rental, store operation which sells the basic necessities (such as water, soft drinks, firewood, etc.), and boat rentals. The Prospectus explains the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the Service will award the concession contract. The Service will issue the Prospectus on April 15, 2009, under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 12, 2009. Any proposal must be received by the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge Manager, 8588 Route 148, Marion, IL 62959, by the deadline date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract. The Prospectus is available as a word document or hard copies are available upon request by contacting Beth Kerley, Contract Compliance Specialist, by phone at (618)998-5910, fax (618)997-8961, or e-mail at [email protected]. A site visit will be held at the Crab Orchard Campground facility on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in order to allow interested parties an opportunity to see the facility. Attendance at the site visit is not required in order to submit a proposal for the Prospectus, but is encouraged. No questions specific to the Prospectus will be entertained during the site visit. The purpose of the site visit is to view existing concession facilities and address questions about the existing Concession contract. The site visit will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the facility.
