***Notice of Intent to Award an Exception to Fair Opportunity***

This is a notice of intent to award a contract under the provisions of Exception to Fair Opportunity process to NavCom Defense Electronics, Inc for the CARA Altitude Simulator requirement, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1, Only One Responsible Source, and FAR 15. 

GSA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Nav Com Defense Electronics, Inc for one (1) Altitude Simulator (PN: TE-8062) in support of the AN/APN-232 Combined Altitude Radar Altimeter (CARA) workload.  The contractor shall manufacture and deliver a quantity of one (1) Altitude Simulator (P /N: TE-8062) and associated RF accessories

The Request for Interested Parties issued in FedBizOps on July 29, 2010 under solicitation number 4QBP57108602 and which closed on Aug 13, 2010 resulted in one responsive vendor capable of providing the required supplies.

The following sub paragraphs apply:

"Only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized".
