Financial Management Service intends to negotiate on a Sole-Source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106(b), with the local Steelcase, Inc distributor, U. S. Business Interiors located at 8800 Lottsford Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) 423210 with a Small Business Size Standard of $7.0 million.

The services required are to dismantle, remove, and store 229 Steelcase Avenir workstations located at its facilities in Hyattsville, MD. Storage location will occur at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing warehouse facilities in Landover, MD. This work effort needs to be completed by 8 February 2012.

This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, sufficient to determine capability in providing same services. All capability statements received within 3 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
