The City of Morgantown (City) is soliciting Bids from qualified Contractors to perform site preparation activities for a new playground at the Woodburn Community Playground. Site preparation includes mobilization, demolition, excavation, drainage, asphalt and concrete paving, erosion and sedimentation control, and site restoration. Engineering documents including an Existing Conditions Plan, Demolition Plan, a Site Layout/Grading Plan, and Drainage Plan are included in the bid packet (attached). Site preparation must start no later than March 15 and be completed by April 21, 2023. Sealed Bids for the WOODBURN PLAYGROUND SITE PREP, Bid Call 2023-06, will be received, by THE CITY OF MORGANTOWN at the office of the FINANCE DIRECTOR in The Spruce Center located at 430 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 until 3:00 P.M. local time on February 9, 2023, at which time the bids received will be publicly opened and read in the first-floor conference room at 430 Spruce Street. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope. Envelope No. 1 must contain the Bid Bond, Certification of Compliance, Power of Attorney, and all other necessary documents required on the Bid Opening Checklist. Envelope No. 2 must be a separate, sealed envelope marked "Bid Proposal" and must contain the completed and signed Bid Proposal. If the documents are not in order, the envelope containing the Bid Proposal will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. Both envelopes must have the following information in the lower left-hand corner: Name and address of Bidder, Bidder's WV Contractor's License Number, "Bid Call 2023-06 Woodburn Playground Site Prep", City of Morgantown, 430 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia 26505. To be opened on FEBRAURY 9, 2023. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: City of Morgantown City Manager’s Department, 430 Spruce Street, 304-225-4213. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents online at http://morgantownwv.gov/bids.aspx. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to “City of Morgantown.” Upon request and receipt of the document fee indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. There will be a pre-bid meeting on January 31, 2023, at 10:00 am at the playground located at 918 Fortney Street.
