The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Procurement, intends to award a sole source contract for their Transit Subsidy Program to the Washington Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Contractor shall provide BLS with SmarTrip cards; a web-based system to enter monthly fare amount(s) to the card; and the ability to allow employees to utilize other surrounding transit systems affiliated with WMATA via their card. This action will result in a firm-fixed price contract with economic adjustments for a base year plus four option years and the period of performance is from 8/1/2013 to 7/31/2018. The NAICS code is 485111 and size standard is approximately 12,000 employees with a $2.7 billion budget for the upcoming year.

A determination not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
