It has been determined that P/N: A92791-11-3000, 1 inch diameter Wire Rope has been designated as a Critical Safety Item (CSI). All Contractors seeking award must have prior approval from the Engineering Support Activity (ESA) at NAVAIR Lakehurst in accordance with SECNAVINST 4140.2(E)(2)(a). In accordance with the current NAVAIR CSI list, there are only three contractors approved to manufacture this CSI item. This will be a limited competition between the three approved companies listed on TDR 14-17018 are WireCo Worldgroup (Cage 80967), Wire Rope Industries LTD (Cage 35043), and Wirerope Works, Inc. (Cage 77141).

The Government intends to procure the above item under the authority of 10 USC 3204 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. A determination by the Government, not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
