Whitewater-Baldy Fire Rehabilitation Aerial Mulching

Aerial Mulching Project:  The project is for aerial mulching of post-fire high severity burn areas on the Whitewater-Baldy Fire burn area.  Mulching application will be set for 1 ton per acre.  The straw mulch must be certified weed-free.  A total of 16,000 acres will be mulched, depending on funds available and bids received.  The contractor will be expected to procure the certified weed-free straw mulch in an amount sufficient to complete the contract.  No designated staging areas have been established.  The contractor may establish any staging area based upon prior approval from the federal agency and/or as agreed to by private landowners.  The contractor will conduct the operation according to FAR/VFR rules.  The project location is north of Silver City, New Mexico.
