Sealed bids for construction of White Oak/SR 121 Water Extension will be received until February 29th, 2024, 2:30 PM at the City of Millen City Hall at 919 College Avenue, Millen, Georgia 30442 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Any bid received after said time and date will not be considered by the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The work shall consist of furnishing all products and equipment and performing all labor necessary to perform the following: Water system extension including, but not limited to, installation of approximately 1475 LF of 10¿ C-900 PVC watermain on White Oak Road, 7690 LF of 12¿ C-900 PVC watermain on SR 121. Watermain installation methods will include open cut, horizontal directional drillings, and jack and bore installation. The project will also consist of pavement replacement, sediment control, and grassing. Time allotted for completion of work is one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. The Scope of Work as described herein is defined as ¿utility contracting¿ in accordance with O.C.G.A 43-14-2(17) so the Contractor performing the work must provide proof of a valid license by the State of Georgia as a ¿Utility Contractor¿ and must also employ a ¿Utility Manager¿ certification holder who will have oversight of all the work. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier¿s check in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. This project (EDA Investment No. 04¿01¿07759) will be partially funded with Federal funds from the USDC, EDA and therefore is subject to federal laws and regulations.
