The United States Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) MILSATCOM Systems Directorate (MC), Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) Program Office, intends to release a solicitation to acquire Satellite Vehicle 10 for the WGS program. The Government's intent is to make a sole source, firm fixed price contract award to the incumbent contractor, Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS), Inc., 900 North Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245-3501. The NAICS code for this effort is 336414 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. Classification code 18 applies. The original WGS Block I contract was competitively awarded to BSS in January 2001 for satellite vehicles (SV) 1-3. The Block II contract was awarded under sole source authority to BSS in 2006 for SV 4-6. Subsequently, the Block II Follow-On contract was awarded under sole source authority to BSS in 2011 for SV 7-9.
