DNR tree seedlings are grown to meet the conditions in the different zones in the state (weather, soil types, etc). Seeds are gathered from various areas are then sown in nursery beds or in a greenhouse; typically at the DNR Webster Forest Nursery. In order to meet minimum sowing requests, DNR is in need of contracting out the growing of approximately 637,500 container seedlings, from DNR-supplied seeds.
