General work description: The work to be done generally consists of installing Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at two crosswalk locations in unincorporated Walnut Creek; the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Bridgefield Road (Site 1) and the intersection of Walden Road and Westcliffe Lane (Site 2). Work at both locations includes installation of detectable warning surfaces at the ends of the crosswalks, trenching, and installation of conduits, electrical cable, pull boxes, and electrical service pedestals. Site 1 work also includes construction of an ADA accessible curb ramp on the north side of the crossing and a solar powered advance warning RRFB. The Site 2 RRFB System includes a passive pedestrian detection system. Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be viewed but not obtained at the Public Works Department, 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, California 94553-4897, Monday - Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and Friday (7:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
