Project work includes; -Replacement and Widening for Dual Bridges No. 21118 on I-70 over MD 65. The existing dual steel beam bridges have span lengths of 30’-8”, 2@57’-8” and 35’-8”, with an existing clear roadway of 38’-6” westbound and 45’-6” eastbound. The proposed dual steel girder bridges have span lengths of 30’-8”, 2@57’-8” and 35’-8”, with a proposed clear roadway of 68’-0” westbound and 62’-3” eastbound. -Replacement of deck and Widening for Dual Bridges No. 21119 on I-70 over CSX Transportation. The existing dual steel beam bridges have span lengths of 38’-10”, 39’-2” and 38’-6”, with an existing clear roadway that varies westbound and 38’-6” eastbound. The proposed widened bridges have span lengths of 38’-10”, 39’-2” and 38’-6”, with a proposed clear roadway that varies westbound and 55’-6” eastbound. Additional work includes widening and rehabilitation of the bridge substructures and cleaning and painitng of the existing structural steel. -There is 3.69 miles of upgrading the I-70 approach roadway, which includes resurfacing of I-70 from west of MD 65, eastward to the interchange at US 40, placement of new traffic barriers, stormwater management facilities, signing, lighting, and permanent pavement striping. -There is additional approach roadway work on MD 65 associated with the bridge replacement operations under the bridge. -Existing lanes of traffic in each direction on I-70 will be maintained at all times with staged construction.
