VILLAGE OF BARRINGTON SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL SERVICE - CHIPPENDALE SUBDIVISION REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Sealed proposals for the Chippendale Subdivision Snow and Ice Removal are being requested and invited and shall be received at the Village of Barrington, Illinois (hereinafter referred to as the "Village") at the Village of Barrington Public Works Department, 300 N. Raymond Avenue, Barrington, Illinois 60010, until 10:00 A.M. on the 26th of March, 2020, and immediately thereafter all Proposals shall be publicly opened and the Proposal prices read aloud. Sealed envelopes or packages containing proposals shall be marked or endorsed "Chippendale Subdivision Snow and Ice Removal" and addressed to Jeremie Lukowicz, 300 North Raymond Avenue, Barrington, Illinois 60010-4399. No Proposal shall be considered unless it is made on the Proposal Form furnished with the contract documents unless otherwise specified. Proposed Work: Snow and Ice Removal Service - Barrington Chippendale Subdivision Contractor shall provide complete snow removal and ice control, including salting operations utilizing a salt mixture provided by the Village of Barrington, of the six (6) streets, eighteen (18) dead ends, two (2) public sidewalks as shown on Exhibit A, including the alternate pricing for the 105 private driveways. Contractor's proposal shall include as a separate item the cost of removal of excessive snow to another location, should the snow within the Chippendale Subdivision reach an undesirable level as determined by the Village, which cost shall be provided on an hourly basis for labor and each piece of equipment listed in the Contractor's proposal, including the cost of the equipment operator. The Bid Package, including the Bid Proposal Form, and all other required Contract Documents, can be obtained from Ralph Kuhlman at the Village of Barrington Public Works Department, 300 North Raymond Avenue, Barrington, Illinois 60010, telephone: (847) 381-7903. Bid Packages can also be sent out by Shipper/courier at the Bidders expense, in which case the Bidder must furnish the Bidder's shipper/courier account number via email to Ralph Kuhlman (

Should the Contractor want to evaluate/visit the site and/or has questions relative to the Proposal Documents, there will be a mandatory pre-proposal meeting on March 10, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. at the Public Works Department, 300 North Raymond Avenue, Barrington Illinois. A bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check issued on a solvent bank, payable to the Village of Barrington, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the proposal shall be submitted with each proposal. No proposal shall be withdrawn or canceled after the opening of proposals without the consent of the Village of Barrington for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the opening of proposals. The Village of Barrington reserves the right to award to any bidder based on negotiations with any and all bidders after receipt of proposals. The Village of Barrington reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality and to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to it, all in accordance with the Proposal and Contract Documents (hereinafter, the "Contract Documents"). The Village encourages minority business firms to submit bids on the Project and successful contract bidders are encouraged to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. It is the intent of the Village to make contract award(s) to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid(s) properly address and comply with the Request for Proposals and is most advantageous to the Village, price and other factors considered. The Village reserves the right to reject any proposal for failure to comply with all requirements of this Notice or any of the Contract Documents; however, the Village may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Village shall accept, in writing, one of the proposals or reject all of the proposals, within forty-five (45) days from the opening of proposals or such longer time as stated in the proposal documents or such time as agreed to by the Village and one or more proposed contractor(s). The Village further reserves the right to award a Contract which, in its judgment, is in the best interest of the Village.
