Proposal 1 The base bid includes reconstruction of Wood, Front, and Garfield streets. The work includes installation of approximately 1,300 lineal feet of 8-inch and 6-inch water main (PVC or Ductile Iron), all water main appurtenances, minor storm sewer installation, excavation and replacement of existing dense graded base, 2,600 lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter, approximately 800 tons of hot mix asphalt pavement, and all other associated surface restoration. The bid alternate includes reconstruction of two blocks of North Jones Street. The work includes installation of approximately 350 lineal feet of 8-inch and 6-inch water main (PVC or Ductile Iron), all water main appurtenances, minor storm sewer installation, excavation and replacement of existing dense graded base, 1,200 lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter, approximately 300 tons of hot mix asphalt pavement, and all other associated surface restoration. Proposal 2 • Alleys o Remove existing pavement along four alleys (approximately 1,100 linear feet) o Install supplemental base course and complete final shaping. o Double chip seal for all alleys o Final surface restoration Proposal 3 • Chip Seal o Prep and sweep roadways o Single chip seal for approximately 2.00 miles of residential roadways. The anticipated substantial completion date is September 30, 2022 and final completion date is October 15, 2022. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. BIDDER is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within the 72 hours of bid opening to MSA Professional Services, Inc., Attn: Brian Kehrli, 1230 South Boulevard, Baraboo, WI 53913. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages.
