The US Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office Florida, intends to award a noncompetitive purchase order using commercial item acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Parts 12 and 13 to Corporación Salvadoreña de Inversiones (CORSAIN) located at Avenida Las Buganvilias No. 14, Colonia San Francisco, San Salvador, El Salvador for dry-dock inspection and repairs of a Nicaraguan Navy’s vessel. The estimated dollar value of this purchase order, including inspection, maintenance and repairs, is approximately $50,000. The vessel is a 1960s Israeli-made 65ft boat of aluminum fabrication and equipped with two Caterpillar motors. The boat is currently located in the Port of Corinto, Chinandega, Nicaragua. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; this acquisition will be processed using the authority in FAR 13.106-1(b). Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to change the procurement strategy. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be submitted electronically, via email, to [email protected] by 03:00 PM EST on November 20, 2009. Responses must address the contractor’s experience in performing the required services in Central America and identify the facilities on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua, El Salvador or Honduras in which repairs will take place.
