The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Coherent, Inc. This purchase is for a diode pumped solid state laser system operating at a wavelength of 532 nanometers. Coherent is the only known source that can provide a laser system simultaneously meeting all the technical requirements of the requesting office for this specific application. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
