The Maritime Administration (MARAD) requires services for the exclusive long-term safe layberth of the N.S. SAVANNAH. MARAD anticipates limiting the geographic area of consideration to either Baltimore, MD, Charleston, SC, Wilmington, NC, Morehead City, NC or it may decide to layberth the vessel at its fleet site in Virginia. The period of performance shall be one year with four (4) 6-month options. It is anticipated the layberth will initially be required on or about October 1, 2006. It is anticipated that a Request for Proposal (RFP) DTMA1R06006 will be issued on or about April 27, 2006 at http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
