This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. "The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only Man Diesel or authorized service firms allowed to provide parts and/or units for Man Diesel Auxiliary Diesel Generators used on T-AH Class Hospital Ships as hospital ADGs. Companies, firms, and/or authorized service centers may qualify as bidders for this work. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for full and open competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 3 business days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to fully compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement."
This procurement is restricted to Man Diesel and or Man Diesel authorized dealers. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40443-10-T-0185, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. This requirement is not a total set-aside for small businesses. NAICS 336611 applies with small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is not applicable. The government intends to make an award on, or about, 16 JUNE 2010. Substitute materials will not be accepted. The OEM parts and/or units must be fully warranted. Man Diesel parts are required.
