Title of Project: User Checks for proposed NIOSH 8327
Background and Need - Prior to publication in the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM), all submitted methods are required to undergo a User Check, or a secondary laboratory validation. This acquisition is being pursued for a proposed method that was developed here at NIOSH in the Biomonitoring and Health Assessment Branch. The method is NIOSH 8327 - Cyclophosphamide, 4-ketocyclophosphamide and ifosfamide in urine.
Project Objective - The purpose of the acquisition is to fulfill all the requirements of a User Check as set forth by the NMAM Team. The results of the acquisition will be an independent review and validation of the proposed NIOSH method which will allow its publication in the NMAM and increase its dissemination in the scientific community.
Scope of Work - The contractor will review the method and its backup data report. The contractor will set up the method as close to as written as possible in their laboratory and perform enough experiments to ensure adequate levels of analytical precision and accuracy. The contractor will analyze a set of spiked samples (~25) submitted by NIOSH. The contractor will report the results of this sample set and all other observations about the method to NIOSH upon completion.
