The USDA National Veterinary Science Laboratories in Ames, IA, and Orient Point, NY, intend to award a purchase order for a 12-month service maintenance agreement, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106 (b), with Beckman Coulter Inc. for maintenance on the Beckman Coulter brand laboratory equipment listed below. This service maintenance agreement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Beckman Coulter being the sole source for factory trained labor and maintenance services for all instrumentation manufactured and sold by Beckman Coulter. The period of performance for the service maintenance agreement commences on January 1, 2014 and concludes December 31, 2014. The anticipated total value of the purchase order is $75,064.68.

This is not a request for quote. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide a maintenance agreement contract utilizing factory authorized parts and service that will not invalidate equipment warranties for the listed equipment.
