The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Dean of Faculty (DF), Department of Chemistry (DFC) has a requirement for a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometer. An NMR instrument utilizes a physical phenomenon in which nuclei in a magnetic field absorb and re-emit electromagnetic radiation. Many scientific techniques exploit NMR phenomena to study molecular physics, crystals, and non-crystalline materials. NMR is one of the core instruments needed by the Chemistry Department. The contractor shall provide an NMR spectrometer system that includes or is capable of all aspects listed in the Salient Characteristics, which are further described in the attached combined synopsis/ solicitation document. This system must include a one-year warranty, must be new (not refurbished), and the contractor must provide on-site training and installation.
