The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with BioVision Technologies, Exton, PA 19341, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is for one (1) each of the following: C4742-80-12AG Hamamatsu ORCA-ER-1394 deep cooling version, 40026 MetaFluor Ratio Fluorescence Imaging Software, 40815 8 channel DAQ board, 40117 Complete Microscope Control, and 40095 Hamamatsu DCAM Driver. These products will be used to upgrade existing equipment to a TIRF (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence) Microscope. This microscope technology enables a technique for studying membrane dynamics in living cells. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to BioVision Technologies.
