This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on behalf of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc, 710 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT, 06484-4794 for the purchase of an upgrade to an existing Laser Conofocal System.

Specifically, PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. will provide One (1) LCI MLS upgrade Base Unit; One (1) MLS 2.0 Upgrade kit 405nm; One (1) MLS Upgrade kit 442nm; One (1) MLS 2.0 Upgrade kit 515nm; One (1) MLS 2.0 Upgrade kit 561nm; One (1) MLS 2.0 Upgrade kit 640nm; One (1) VSDC Upgrade kit for MLS 2.0 and; One (1) Photokineses Upgrade kit ERS 5/6 NSy (Vol).

PerkinElmer Health Sciences is the sole provider of the existing equipment and all upgrade equipment.

The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR Part 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
