Supply:    The Air Force intends to issue a sole source award to ION CORPORATION for the purchase of Information Technology related software to include:  Upgrade Provision data; ECSPS ITAs; ECSPS Aluminum Box; D38999 Series I, II, or III connector cables; ECSPS Load Bank; and ECSPS Extender Card.  The estimated award date is 18 JUN 2009.  The NAICS code for this requirement is 334417 with a size standard of no more than 500 employees.  THIS IS SOLE SOURCED TO ION CORPORATION DUE TO PREVIOUS PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURED BUY ION CORP.  THIS PURCHASE IS TO UPGRADE  EXISTING EQUIPMENT.

 Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is required to receive any award.  Contractors can register electronically at http://www.ccr.gov.  ORCA registration is also required and contractors can register electronically at https://orca.bpn.gov.  

 The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.  Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  However, all informational proposals will be considered within 10 days after the publication of this synopsis.  A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Authority is 10 USC 2304 (c) (1).
