DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The HRCO(P) has a requirement to procure University Affiliation Services from an accredited university to award a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science - Physician Assistant to students who complete the AMEDDC&S Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP). The U.S. Army IPAP consists of two phases (I and II). Phase I is 16 months in duration conducted at the AMEDDC&S and is primarily didactic. Phase II is 13 months in duration and is primarily clinical, conducted at various Army, Air Force and Navy military hospitals throughout the United States. This requirement will is for a university to grant participants in the IPAP a Bachelor of Science degree to students who successfully complete Phase I and a Master of Science - Physician Assistant degree to students who successfully complete Phase II. It is anticipated the services in support of conferring degrees will be required starting October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017 and for optionally for four years thereafter. The university must be accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation. They must also be accredited and re-accredited at least once and maintained their accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistant. The university must also be a member of the Physician Assistant Education Association.
