The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), is a government agency charged with the mission of stewardship for living marine resources. The SWFSC provides scientific and technical support to NMFS for the management, conservation, and wise use of the Southwest region's marine resources. The National Marine Fisheries Service, Southwest Fisheries Science Center, Fisheries Resource Division and Advanced Survey Technologies Group have a requirement for an underway CTD (UCTD) capable of being deployed at survey speeds, 9-12 knots, and collecting data to a maximum depth of 1000 m. The Oceansciences Underway CTD System has been purchased by the NWFSC in FY12. The additional Oceansciences Underway CTD will provide standardization of equipment among NOAA Fisheries Research Vessels and will also facilitate spares, repairs and shared knowledge and experience.
This requirement is a 100% set aside to business concerns under the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334511 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. The government intends to issue a firm fixed price contract with required delivery date of no later than Aug 15, 2013. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication.
