Daniel O'Connell's Sons (DOC) is the Construction Manager for the UCONN 2000 Code Remediation and Programmatic Renovations in Stamford, CT. The University’s Stamford Campus is located at 1 University Place, Stamford, in a former Department Store which was remodeled in 1999 under the UConn 2000 program. In accordance with an executive order issued by former governor Jodi M. Rell, the construction documents for this project were reviewed for code compliance by the University Office of Fire Marshal and Building Inspector (OFMBI). As a result of the review, the OFMBI issued a series of building and fire code discrepancies. Eight of the Twenty-five Notice of Discrepancies (NOD) will be corrected under Phase 1 of this project. Scope and Schedule for Phase II has not yet been determined. The building is intended to remain occupied during construction and subcontractors and suppliers will be required to work collaboratively with Daniel O’Connell’s Sons, Inc. (DOC) to mitigate the disruption to the University. Each NOD will be required to be tracked separately from a cost perspective including invoicing by NOD line items. A schedule of value will be required within 14 days of award subject to the approval of DOC. Construction work on the Stamford Campus must be coordinated with overall campus schedules. Key subcontractors and suppliers will participate in meetings with DOC to ensure compatibility with campus operations to the highest degree possible. Bids will be taken for the following packages at this time: BP #1 - Misc. Metals - MBE Only - estimated value = $60,000 BP#2 - Carpentry and General Trade - estimated value = $65,000 BP#3 - Paint - MBE Only - estimated value = $10,000 BP#4 - Electrical - 30/10 SBE/MBE Requirement - estimated value = $30,000 * Value shown is an estimated value only and is not a guaranteed representation of the actual value of the scope.
