The Office of Regulatory Science, Division of Bioanalytical Chemistry requires the purchase of a two-dimensional gas chromatograph with mass spectrometry detection to develop methods for the detection of seed oil in olive oil, and the analysis of trans fatty acids in fats and oils. The requested two-dimensional gas chromatograph with mass spectrometry detection will provide the necessary requirements that are critical for the development of new methods for FDA laboratories (CFSAN and ORA) dedicated to food safety. This instrument will replace an existing outdated instrument based on same technology.
