This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) has been tasked to solicit and award a Firm Fixed Price Design/Build Contract to implement a tunnel entrant position tracking system via WiFi technology for the Capitol Power Plant (CPP) utility tunnels, District of Columbia. The type of set-aside category for this solicitation will depend on the responses to this sources sought notice. The project includes: prepare a detailed of the tunnel entrant tracking system for approval by the AOC; construction of approved system within 9 months of Notice To Proceed (NTP). The CPP utility tunnels vary in cross section contain the necessary support systems to maintain the Capitol Complex, including steam and chilled water. The total length of the various tunnels is approximately 3 miles.
The magnitude of construction for this project is $500,000 and $1,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this acquisition is 238210, Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors. Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response under this sources sought synopsis. Award will be based on the overall Best Value to the Government. The anticipated solicitation issuance date is on or about 01 August 2009 with the proposal due date on or about 30 August 2009. Offerors response to this Synopsis shall be limited to 5 pages and shall include the following information: Offerors name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. Offerors interested in submitting proposals on the solicitation when it is issued should submit their capability to perform a contract of this magnitude and complexity. The submission should include: Offerors in-house capability to execute construction of comparable work (utility tunnels) performed within the last 5 years ââ¬â brief description of the project, customer name, timeliness of performance, customer satisfaction and dollar value of the project)
