The T.S. Empire State is a U.S. Government owned training ship provided to the State University of New York Maritime Academy for the purpose of training young men and women for a career in the U.S. Maritime Industry.  It is the intention of the Maritime Administration to conduct a scheduled inspection of the vessel's High Pressure and Low Pressure Steam Turbine assemblies. All inspections and repairs will comply to  American Bureau of Shipping and U.S. Coast Guard requirements. Repairs will be accomplished at the vessels layberth, State University of New York Maritime College, #6 Pennyfield Avenue, Bronx, New York, 10465.
