NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT- 802nd CONS on Lackland AFB, San Antonio , Texas, intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to Tomcat USA, INC, 2160 Commerce Drive, Midland, Texas 79703-7504 for specialized staging and lighting parts. This sole source requirement meets the conditions of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1); only one responsible source has been identified as reasonably available to provide the supplies that will satisfy the agency requirements. Tomcat USA is the only known manufacturer and distributor that can provide the necessary equipment. No other manufacturer has truss pieces that would not require major modification to enable those pieces to interface with the current truss system; therefore, the parts must be purchased from the manufacturer, Tomcat, USA. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids, quotes, or proposals. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332312 and the Small Business size standard is 500 employees. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Interested parties are required to provide equal parts meeting the above brand name requirements. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, however all responsible sources that believe they can meet all of the requirements may submit a quote, which shall be considered. If no responses are received by 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, 31 May 2011, a Sole Source contract will be pursued with Tomcat USA.
