The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to procure a TrueFect-Max ™Transfection Reagent from United Biosystems, Inc., 13520 McLearen Road, #711382, Herndon, VA 20171.  Truefect Max is needed for protein production, and transfection of 293-F cells. The expression system that has given us the highest yields of protein expression per cost has been use of Truefect Max with suspension 293 cells. Our lab and institute have a long history of using Treufect Max reagent and United Biosystems is the only company that currently provides this product at high quality and to insure consistency only Truefect Max can be used. Any other similar product would result in changes to the existing experiment.

This will be a firm fixed price contract in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible.  THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED.  The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-77, dated November 13, 2014.  The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541711, which has a size standard of 500 employees.  All responsible sources who feel they can meet these requirements shall submit an offer that will be considered by the Agency.  A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Offers must be submitted no later than 5:00 P.M.
