REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION:

This item is a transmission unit used on the M916A3 Light Equipment Transporter and M917A2 Dump Truck, both part of the M915 Series of Tactical Trucks. The transmission unit is connected to the engine, and transfers power generated by the engine to the axles to propel the vehicle either forward or backward. The transmission allows the mechanical output of the engine to change the speed or torque applied to the wheels based on the operating conditions of the engine (steep hill, faster speed, etc).

The Government does not have rights to the drawings or specifications for the purchased parts.
